THE Quezon City government has completed 90.71 percent of its distribution of the emergency relief assistance approved by President Duterte for low-income families affected by the two-week enhanced community quarantine imposed in the NCR Plus from March 29 to April 11.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said the “ayuda” payout has already benefited 716,447 families or 2,251,282 individuals.

Some 840,105 families or 2,481,947 persons who live in the city are eligible to receive the cash assistance.

Belmonte said the remaining 123,658 families will get their financial assistance on or before May 15, which is the new deadline approved by the Department of Interior and Local Government to complete the distribution of the monetary relief.

The President has approved the grant of P1,000 per person, or a maximum of P4,000 per family, to residents of Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal who were affected by the strict lockdown that Malacañang imposed to control the surge in COVID-19 cases.

The P22.9 cash assistance package is seen to benefit 22.9 million individuals.
