MISS Eco Teen Philippines 2020 Roberta Angela “Ro-An” Tamondong, 18, from Quezon City, is gunning for the country’s first Miss Eco Teen International crown at the international beauty pageant for teen-aged women in the resort city of Hurghada, Egypt tomorrow, December 5 (early morning December 6 PH time).

Ro-An is among 24 beauties worldwide who underwent subsidiary competitions where she stood out in the resort wear competition, placing second; and in the talent competition where she placed third.

An outright victory or respectable placement in the finals will make Ro-An the third Filipina in a little over a month to shine in a global pageant.

Last October, Bulacan teacher Rowena “Rowee” Lucero Sasuluya was named fourth runner-up at the Miss Globe 2020 finals in Tirana, Albania. And only last Sunday, Roxanne “Roxie” Baeyens was crowned as Miss Earth Water 2020 (equivalent to second runner-up) at the 20th Miss Earth which was wonderfully held on a virtual platform.

Ro-An was handpicked as Philippine delegate to the pageant by Miss World Philippines Organization president Arnold Vegafria who is also the national director for Miss Eco Teen.

Will Ro-An continue the winning streak of Rowee and Roxie? All three, after all, have trained under Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores, the premiere pageant camp in the country. Rowee, Roxie, Ro-An, Rodgil. Talk of the Power of Four Rs!

Hats off to Queen of Hearts Foundation Inc., headed by Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism 2018 Ma. Mitzie Go-Gil, together with her reigning and past Queen of Hearts titleholders, for reaching out to victims of the strong typhoons that hit the Bicol region last month.

Go-Gil was joined by her reigning queens Annette Supan Mendoza, Glovel Tasico, Darling Topacio Edralin (who graciously provided the baby bus for the trip), Sarima Paglas and Catherine Jordas Flores; as well as past queens Llena Tan, and Sorsogon-based Glynes Evangelista Olbes, who warmly hosted her Queen of Hearts “sisters.”

Prior to their Bicol trip, the beauties, who have been on continuous charity missions everywhere, have distributed relief goods for the flood victims of Marikina before braving the long, 12-hour road travel to Sorsogon where they distributed relief goods, used clothes, face masks and face shields, bottled water, vitamin supplements, as well as toys to the children.
