BRIG. Gen. Jesus Nelson Morales, head of the Presidential Security Command (PSC), and four colonels have been promoted to the next higher rank in the Armed Forces.
Armed Forces chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr led the donning of ranks ceremony yesterday for Morales and the other military officers during rites at the AFP general headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
Morales, an Air Force officer, was promoted to the rank of major general.
He ssumed the post of commander of PSC (recently renamed from Presidential Security Group) in October last year, replacing now AFP Civil Relations Group commander Maj. Gen. Ramon Zagala who is President Marcos Jr’s first PSG commander.
Morales was deputy commander of the Air Logistics Command prior to his appointment as PCG commander.
Promoted from colonel to brigadier general were Ronaldo Juan, PSC deputy commander; Eliglen Villaflor, commander of the AFP Joint Special Operations Group; Romulo Quemado, commander of the Marine Coastal Defense Regiment; and Daniel Tansip, chief of the AFP Chaplain Service.
“This donning of ranks ceremony is a time-honored tradition of recognizing the well-earned promotions of our military leaders, highlighting the principle of meritocracy that the AFP upholds and instills across its ranks,” said Brawner in his address during the ceremony.
“These individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their duties in their years of service to the nation and the Filipino people,” he added.
