PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar yesterday ordered a probe against a policeman suffering from high blood pressure who threatened to shoot staff at a Valenzuela City hospital for failing to immediately attend to him.
Eleazar said he has instructed the director of the Northern Police District, Brig. Gen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo Jr., to “immediately conduct the investigation, find out the truth about this complaint and determine why this happened.
“We are not going to tolerate this kind of action and we assure the public that the policeman will be held accountable if the investigation establishes his infraction,” said Eleazar.
The policeman, Patrolman Angelo Mendoza ABalos, 37, was brought by his wife, Maria Concepcion, to the Valenzuela Emergency Hospital on Sunday morning due to high blood pressure.
At the triage area, hospital staff failed to immediately attend to the cop because they were attending to other patients.
A report reaching Camp Crame said the policemen then said: “Tang ina naman, nagpakilala na akong pulis. Kung hawak ko lang baril ko, binaril ko na kayo. (Son of a bitch, I’ve already introduced myself as a policeman. If I only have my gun, I would have shot you.)”
