COMMISSION on Higher Education Chairperson Prospero De Vera yesterday admitted they have yet to start an investigation into the sudden closure of the Colegio de San Lorenzo in Quezon City that affected thousands of students.
De Vera had earlier said the CHED would conduct a probe on the closure since they were not informed by the CDSL management of their plan to shut down.
“Sa totoo lang, I have not yet instructed the CHED legal department to look into it,” he said in an online press briefing where he and other CHED officials witnessed the signing of a memorandum of agreement between CDSL and several higher education institutions to accept affected students.
He said the priority of CHED is to assist the affected students, particularly in getting them transferred to other colleges and universities.
