AMID the continued threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Tuesday said nine licensure examinations scheduled between May and June this year have been postponed.

“To further ensure the safety of the examinees and employees of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the conduct of the following licensure examinations is hereby postponed,” the PRC said in an advisory.

Postponed are the Civil Engineer licensure examinations (May 3-4, 2020); licensure examinations  for Chemical Engineers (May 6-8, 2020); licensure examinations for Certified Public Accountants (May 10,17-18, 2020); written and practical Dentists licensure examinations (May 12-14, 26-29, 2020); and written and practical Dental Hygienists licensure examinations (May 21-22, 2020).

Also deferred are the Nurses licensure examinations (May 31-June 1, 2020), Criminologists licensure examinations (June 7-9, 2020), Environmental Planners licensure examinations (June 11-12, 2020), and licensure examinations for Interior Designers (June 23-25, 2020).

“Announcement on the new schedules of the affected licensure examinations will be posted on the PRC website and PRC social media accounts,” said the PRC.

In a related development, the PRC said it is also extending the deadline for the filing of applications for various licensure examinations.

This, it said, is also due to the extension of the Luzon-wide lockdown.

“Please be advised that all deadlines set from April 15, 2020 to April 30, 2020, for the filing of application for licensure examinations, are extended until further notice,” said the PRC in a separate advisory.

The PRC said all concerned applicants are advised to wait for further announcements on the new deadlines, which will be posted on the PRC website and/or social media accounts.
