THE Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Tokyo yesterday warned current and aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against a certain “Rowena Perez,” who is posing as an employee of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
“Rowena Perez or whoever is her true identity is engaged in serious misrepresentation in posing as an OWWA or POEA employee to collect fees to process employment documents at
POLO-Tokyo or issue certificates for deployment and work in Japan,” Philippine Labor Attaché to Tokyo Marie Rose Escalada said, adding her activities are not authorized, if not illegal.”
She said there is no “Rowena Perez” in the roster of employees of POLO-Tokyo.
