THE Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Riyadh is warning the public against transacting with individuals claiming to be its personnel and doing business outside its premises and office hours.
“If someone claims to be from POLO and is even showing an ID but wants to meet outside our offices, do not believe them,” said POLO-Riyadh on the heels of the reopening of the labor market in Saudi Arabia.
It said persons dropping names of POLO officials and personnel should not be trusted. “This only means that they are not legitimate,” it said.
POLO said those with official business but cannot do it in the office and during office hours may just opt to send a representative.
“If you cannot process your papers personally, send a workmate or a friend instead while carrying an authorization letter,” it said.
Last Monday, the Department of Migrant Workers and the POLOs in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar officially resumed verification of new job contracts for Saudi-bound Filipino workers.
