ANTI-narcotics operatives arrested three drug peddlers and seized 12 kilos of shabu, worth P81.6 million, in Valenzuela City before noon yesterday.
The suspects were identified as Algie Labenia, 43 of Angeles City in Pampanga; Nolan Julia of Muntinlupa City, 43; and Joseph Malasaga, 50, of Caloocan City.
They were nabbed by PNP, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Bureau of Customs personnel during a buy-bust operation along Maysan Road corner Cecilio J. Santos Street in Valenzuela City at around 11:30 a.m.
Apart from the 12 kilos of shabu, also seized from the suspects’ were the buy-bust money, a green Honda Civic car, two cellphones, several identification cards and documents.
Police said the suspects are known distributors of shabu in Metro Manila. Efforts are underway to identify their cohorts, police added.
Meanwhile, a high-value target in the government’s ongoing war against illegal drugs was arrested by anti-narcotics police operatives in Cebu City on Saturday.
The suspect, identified as James Ryan Llaguno, 27, was nabbed during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Cubacub, reports reaching the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame disclosed.
Llaguno yielded one kilo and 27 grams of shabu, worth P6.94 million.
Citing police records, PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba said “Llaguno is a high-value drug suspect.”
