The PNP is conducting an investigation to identify and subsequently file charges against a netizen who threatened to kill last Monday students of a Taguig City school.

“The is now being looked into. The PNP ACG (PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group) is already looking into the profile of the sender or uploader of the threatening (words),” said PNP spokeswoman Col. Jean Fajardo.

Fajardo said the ACG has started coordinating with the concerned social media provider in the conduct of the probe.

“The ACG is already investigating it. The ACG already took cognizance of the case and said it is already coordinating with the service provider in looking into the account,” said Fajardo.

“The (sender/uploader) may face a corresponding criminal case once identified,” added Fajardo.

The threat was posted on Facebook by one “Sofia Smith,” who said she was going to detonate a bomb and kill all students of the Signal Village National High School in Taguig.

Asked if the “Sofia Smith” is a real name or just an alias, Fajardo said: “We don’t know if that’s a real name or an alias but this is already being investigated by ACG.”

Classes at the school were suspended after the threat was made.

Fajardo said a PNP Ordnance and Explosive Disposal team from National Capital Region searched the school for a bomb last Monday.

“(They) did not find any explosive device within the school’s premises,” said Fajardo.
