PNP director for operations Maj. Gen. Valeriano de Leon yesterday ordered an intensified crackdown on the operation of e-sabong, which President Duterte suspended earlier this month.
De Leon issued the order to police commanders after the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) disclosed that some e-sabong sites continue to run illegally.
On Monday, PAGCOR’s E-Gaming Licensing and Regulation vice president Jose Tria named several e-sabong sites that continue to operate, among them pinasabong.live, pclive1.com, sabong-express.net, phbetting.live, goperya.com, phbet44.bet, phbet.bet, and phbetr.bet.
“The operation of e-sabong was suspended by our Commander-in-Chief, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, effective May 3, 2022. Therefore, we should not permit guerrilla-style activities of e-sabong by unscrupulous individuals and groups,” said De Leon.
De Leon said the PNP will coordinate with PAGCOR in identifying other e-sabong websites that are illegally operating.
He said the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group is actively looking for online operations to ensure they do not go around the President’s order to stop e-sabong operations.
