NONE of the around 3,000 Filipinos in Pakistan has been affected by the recent monsoon flooding that hit the South Asian country, the Department of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.
The DFA said majority of the Filipinos there are in the provinces of Sindh and Punjab.
“As of August 27, no Filipinos in the said areas were affected, “ the DFA said, adding the embassy in Islamabad is still coordinating with local authorities and members of the Filipino community in Balochistan.
Majority of Filipinos — around 90 percent — in Pakistan are household service workers while the rest are professional and staff officers of international organizations with offices in the country.
