NORTHPORT coach Pido Jarencio is all for Filipino players trying their luck abroad, maintaining it would benefit Philippine basketball in the long run.
Kaya siguradong mag-i-improve pati laro nila.”
Jarencio issued this reaction to Ateneo star Thirdy Ravena deciding to play as an Asian import in Japan’s B. League.
Much earlier, Kai Sotto also signed up to play for the Select Team of the NBA G-League as he pursues his dream of making it to the No. 1 pro league in the world while Fil-Kiwi Ken Tuffin, Far Eastern U team skipper, is currently plying his wares in the New Zealand NBL.
In an interview posted in the sports website spin.ph, self-exiled Greg Slaughter, currently in the US, claimed he is also being wooed by some international teams.
Other Filipino players are also being reportedly lured by other Asian leagues.
Jarencio has no problem with that, maintaining those players will all land in the PBA sooner or later.
