THE Philippines and five neighboring nations are currently at “very low” risk classification amid the recent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) resurgence seen in Asia, the independent OCTA Research group said yesterday.
Data from the OCTA showed that the Philippines, as well as China, Myanmar, Cambodia, Taiwan, and Timor Leste are all at the same risk classification.
The group noted the six countries’ current average daily attack rates (ADARs) — the Philippines at 0.43, China at 0.16, Myanmar at 0.71, Cambodia at 0.67, Taiwan at 0.41, and Timor Leste at 0.29.
On the other hand, OCTA said five other areas near the Philippines are currently at “severe” risk classification.
It said the average daily attack rates of South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brunei were found to be in the hundreds per 100,000 population, in particular at 778, 262, 244, 172, and 333, respectively.
Meanwhile, OCTA said Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia are at “very high” risk classification, with their ADARs at 33.18 for Japan, 35.32 for Thailand, and 69.22 for Malaysia.
Laos is at “high” risk classification with an average daily attack rate of 17.27.
On the other hand, Indonesia is at “moderate” risk classification with its daily attack rate at 3.08.
