THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned the public against using “Perfect Skin All Naturals Sunblock Gel Cream SPF 45” which it said has no certificate of product notification from the agency.
With the cosmetic product not going through the notification process of the FDA, the agency said it cannot assure the sunblock’s quality and safety.
It said the product “may pose health risks to consumers,” adding potential hazards may come from ingredients that are not allowed to be part of a cosmetic product or from the contamination of heavy metals.
“The use of substandard and possibly adulterated cosmetic products may result in adverse reactions including, skin irritation, itchiness, anaphylactic shock, and organ failure,” said FDA.
