SOME P28.01 billion worth of illegal drugs have been seized during the first 15 months of the administration of President Marcos Jr., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.
PDEA said the illegal drugs were seized during 47,076 anti-drug operations launched from July 1 last year up to September 30 this year.
The seized illegal drugs included 3,795.86 kilos of shabu, according to PDEA. At P6.8 million per kilo of shabu, the seized contraband is worth P25.81 billion.
PDEA said 38.26 kilos of cocaine, 52,386 pieces of ecstasy and 2,755.89 kilos of marijuana were also seized during the same period.
The anti-drug operations also led to the arrest of 64,862 suspects, including 4,468 high-value targets.
The operations also led to the dismantling of 726 drug dens and a drug clandestine laboratory.
Under PDEA’s Barangay Drug Clearing Program which was launched in 2016, a total of 27,799 barangays have been cleared of illegal drugs.
It said 7,738 barangays are still the subject of drug-clearing operations.
Police seized ₱44,200 worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested two persons in separate buy-bust operations in Cainta, Rizal and Antipolo City last Wednesday.
Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal PPO director, identified the two as alias Raprap, 36, a resident of Cainta, Rizal; and Wil, 40, of Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City.
Seized from them were 17 sachets containing more or less 6.5 grams of suspected shabu.
