PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday paid tribute to the 1.8 million workers in government for their dedication, commitment, excellence and integrity in providing quality service to all Filipinos.
The President, in his message for the 123rd anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, also urged those in government to continue to “strive harder in achieving our united goal of providing a better future for our country.”
“I would like to express my gratitude to all civil servants who work tirelessly and with excellence and integrity to deliver quality service that all Filipinos deserve. Thank you for your dedication despite the numerous challenges that we experience in our respective occupations,” Marcos said.
He also commended the Civil Service Commission for its commitment and for continuously transforming the human resource and organization of the bureaucracy as well as for its efforts to “hone agile and future ready servant heroes.”
The observance of the Philippine Civil Service anniversary was pursuant to Public Law 5 issued on Sept. 5, 1900 that established the “Civil Service of the Philippine Island” which was named as the Second Philippine Commission. It was reorganized into a bureau known as the Civil Service Board in 1905.
