THE Pasig City government recently launched a project that is expected to improve relations between residents and local officials.
Vice mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. and the 11th City Council led the “Talakayan sa Barangay” held last Friday at the Barangay hall of San Miguel.
The Barangay Talakayan is like a townhall meeting wherein the vice mayor and city councilors answer questions, hear requests, and remedy complaints from residents.
It will be held weekly and go on until the end of the officials’ terms.
Jaworski said the initiative will be an opportunity to hear the residents’ concerns directly and help officials to make their policies more effective and substantial for their constituents.
“Mayor Vico (Sotto) and I do ‘Oplan Kaayusan’ everyday so we do get to go around and meet people in the city. But it’s different when there’s a proper setting that can facilitate dialogue,” he said.
He also instructed barangay officials to make a list of concerns/problems they have.
