THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the Pasig River Ferry Service will suspend its operations on April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor) and April 10 as part of the commemoration of the Muslim holiday of Eid’l Ftr or Feast of Ramadhan.

“The operation of the Pasig River Ferry Service will resume on April 11, Thursday,” the MMDA said in an advisory.

The MMDA operates nine ferry boats for the Pasig river ferry service that has stops in 13 stations in the cities of Pasig, Makati, Mandaluyong and Manila.

The stations are located at Pinagbuhatan, San Joaquin, Maybunga, and Kalawaan in Pasig, Guadalupe and Valenzuela in Makati, Hulo in Mandaluyong, and Sta. Ana, PUP, Lawton, Escolta, Lambingan, and Quinta in Manila.

Earlier, MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes said three more ferries with a capacity to carry 150 passengers each will be added to the current fleet of ferries to meet the demand for an alternative mode of transport in the metropolis.

Last year, the agency said the ferry service served more than 233,000 passengers.
