THE wing of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas that contested the party’s naming of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as their standard-bearer yesterday officially endorsed Manila Mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno’ Domagoso as their presidential candidate in the May 9 elections.

The wing’s leader, Abubakas Mangelen, read the party’s resolution naming Moreno as their candidate during the campaign sortie of Moreno in Iligan City.

“Wala kaming ibang mapili kundi si Mayor Isko Moreno at ang kanyang bise presidente na si Doc Willie Ong. Andito po kami para ipakita ang suporta sa kanyang kandidatura sa pagka-presidente,” Mangelen said to the cheers of the crowd.

Mangelen said of all the presidential candidates, it was Moreno who was able to “recognize the problems of Mindanao” as well as present solutions to address it.

The PFP, he added, also has doable programs to address poverty, fight corruption and crimes and provide basic services to ordinary Filipinos that he would implement if he won the presidential race in the coming elections.

Mangelen said they would also support Moreno’s senatorial slate. Aksyon Demokratiko has three senatorial bets, namely. Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita and Jopet Sison as well as guest candidate John Castriciones.

Mangelen filed last December a petition before the Commission on Election seeking the declaration of nullity of the certificate of nomination and acceptance, and consequent disqualification of Marcos from the presidential race.

Mangelen was a former commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Affairs and is also a member of the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee, which openly called for the establishment of a “revolutionary government” under President Duterte.
