Pares Retiro, branded as the “Totoong Pagkaing Pilipino,” thrived despite the pandemic.
With almost 40 branches nationwide, it is undoubtedly the largest pares brand in the country and is still up for rapid expansion thru franchising.
As the country’s largest “pares brand,” it is challenging once again the food industry with another first. Pares Retiro will be launching the first ever pares original song coupled with a short film.
The brand has been known for levelling up the traditional “pares” known to Filipinos to be commonly sold on the sidewalk. Over the past decades, Pares Retiro managed to establish its position of offering the humble meal of pares yet elevating it to a level comparable to other well-established food brands through continuous product development, improvement of stores and aggressive marketing efforts.
Just in time for the Valentines season, the brand’s marketing arm – Bigtime Studios has released its signature song, “Pares Tayo,” on its official Youtube channel. Performed by singer-songwriter Steven Peregrina, the song has been launched together with a short film with the same title, starring Kiray Celis, Stephan Estopia, Concon Felix, Arthem Basierto featuring Boy Bangus.
“Pares Tayo” the movie is a mix of comedy, romance and drama featuring a story that is gender neutral. It is just the start of the list of short films from Pares Retiro with stories that typical Pinoys can enjoy.
In the past years, Pares Retiro, on top of the classic Filipino favorites being offered in its stores such as the silog (branded as Hugotsilog), Pares Mami, Bone Marrow and the likes, managed to launch and popularized some unique food dishes such as the world’s first Chicken Pares (crispy chicken with the signature classic lotong sauce ) and the Pancit Pares (Filipino classic noodles topped with the savory beef pares meat). The aforementioned food offerings are likewise featured on the short movie.
On top of the food offerings, Pares Retiro is likewise known to introduce some of the industry’s firsts, such as the first ever Pares drive-thru restaurant in Abra.
True to its branding of being the “Totoong Pagkaing Pilipino,” the brand pays tribute to the Filipino culture and heritage by incorporating classic Pinoy designs such as the banig and highlighting the Philippine Flag in all of its stores. Digital displays are present as well across all branches that acknowledge the successes of some of world-class Filipino athletes and celebrities, such as Efren “Bata” Reyes, Paeng Nepomuceno and the like.
