AID to the Church in Need (ACN) Philippines, a pontifical foundation of the Catholic Church, is encouraging parents and teachers to join the annual “One Million Children Praying the Rosary” set on October 18.
“We are inviting families, parishes, catechists, and teachers to pray the rosary together with children on the 18th of October for peace and unity in the world,” said ACN Philippines administrator Fr. Jaime Marquez.
The global prayer initiative seeks to rekindle faith in the power of prayer.
Earlier, the ACN said the campaign is an invitation to remember the words of the Our Lady of Fatima “that the childlike and trusting prayer of the rosary can truly change the world, defeat evil, and bring peace.”
The children’s rosary campaign was initiated in 2005 in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.
ACN started supporting the campaign in 2008, and it has since become a global event.
CAN took over the management of the annual event in 2018.
