Palace issues list of holidays for 2021

THE public can expect at least seven long weekends next year, based on a list of regular and special non-working holidays released by Malacañang on Monday.

Proclamation No. 986 signed by the President on July 30 shows seven regular or special holidays falling on a Friday or a Monday.

The regular holidays that will fall on a Monday or Friday are January 1, New Year’s Day, Friday; April 2, Good Friday; April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, Friday; and August 30 or National Heroes Day (last Monday of August).

The special non-working days are February 12, Chinese New Year, Friday; November 1 or All Saints Day, Monday; and December 31, Friday.

The other regular holidays are: April 1 or Maundy Thursday; May 1, Labor Day, Saturday; June 12, Independence Day, Saturday; November 30, Bonifacio Day, Tuesday; December 25, Christmas Day, Saturday; and December 30, Rizal Day, Thursday.

The other special non-working days are: February 25 or EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary, Thursday; April 3 or Black Saturday; August 21 or Ninoy Aquino Day, Saturday; and December 8 or the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, Wednesday.

The additional special non-working days for 2021 are November 2 or All Souls’ Day (Tuesday), and December 24 or Christmas Eve (Friday).

Separate proclamation orders will be issued in declaring the observance of Muslim holidays Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha, which will depend on moon sightings.
