CUSTOMS examiners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, intercepted three air parcels containing illegal drugs valued at P7.3M last July 26 at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City.
A physical examination of the parcels revealed 96 disposable vape cartridges filled with cannabis oil, 468 grams of kush (high-grade marijuana), and 957 grams of with a total estimated street value of P7,386,672.
The parcels, originating from the United States and Pakistan, were addressed to various recipients in Cebu City, Bacolod City, and Naga City.
The confiscated drugs are now in the custody of PDEA for further investigation and potential charges under Republic Act (RA) 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10863, the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
