A high-value drug suspect was arrested while P6.8 million of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City, the Southern Police District said yesterday.
SPD Director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft said John Mark Musay Salonga, alias Boy, was arrested by operatives of the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit, District Intelligence Division and Taguig city police at around 10:45 p.m. last Wednesday at Arca South Compound in Taguig City.
Seized from Salonga were two plastic packs containing more or less one kilogram of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P6.8 million.
The arresting team also recovered one P1,000 bill on top of 399 pieces of P1,000 boodle money used in the buy-bust operation and a brown paper bag.
Kraft said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against Salonga before the local prosecutors’ office.
The suspect is currently being held at the SPD Drug Enforcement Unit detention cell.
