TWO Chinese and a Filipina were arrested and P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig last Monday night.
A report to the Southern Police District identified the two Chinese as Kun Yang, 26, and Yang Tao, 29. They are classified as “high-value individuals” in the illegal drugs trade.
Also arrested was 18-year-old Faith Jovenes Suñiga, alias Nina/Trixie.
The three, according to the police report, are “members of the Yang drug group operating in the cities of Muntinlupa, Makati, Pasay, Taguig and Pasig.”
They were apprehended at around 10:30 p.m. by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and operatives from the Taguig and Pasay police in a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of The Fort Strip, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City after selling “more or less” one kilogram of shabu to an undercover agent.
Also seized by the police were several self-sealing transparent plastic sachets containing dried leaves and fruiting tops suspected to be marijuana “kush” weighing 9.5 grams, one self-sealing small transparent plastic sachet containing 62 pieces of small red round tablets and 38 pieces of small pink round tablets and two vehicles — a Mitsubishi Montero and a Mitsubishi Mirage.
“Confiscated drug evidence has an approximate total value of ₱6,814,250,” the police report said.
The confiscated illegal drugs were taken to the SPD Forensic Unit for examination while the suspects are detained at the RDEU Custodial Facility pending the filing of charges against them before the Taguig city prosecutor’s office.
Police seized ₱68,000 worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested a jobless man in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City last Monday night.
Col. Celerino Sacro Jr., local police chief, identified the suspect as alias Sherwin, 29, a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig.
Seized from him were several sachets containing more or less 10 grams of suspected shabu. — With Christian Oineza
