AMID the ongoing review of the minimum wage rate in Metro Manila, the Unity for Wage Increase Now (UWIN) has asked the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) for a P597 increase in the salary of workers.
In a public notice, the NCR wage board disclosed that UWIN filed the petition last May 24, a day after the holding of the first public consultation for the next round of wage adjustment in Metro Manila.
“Please be informed that a petition for minimum wage adjustment was filed in the NCR,” said the NCR wage board.
It said the UWIN wage petition shall be discussed in a public hearing as provided under the rules.
“Any party may file an opposition copy furnished the petitioner on or before June 18, 2024,” said the NCR wage board.
The RTWPB-NCR said it will conducting a public hearing on June 20 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) in Quezon City.
It said parties and individuals who intend to participate may coordinate with RTWPB-NCR.
The NCR wage board said position papers may be submitted in its office at the DY Intl. Bldg. in Malate, Manila or via e-mail at wage_ncr@yahoo.com.ph.
