P48.96M shabu seized in Parañaque; 3 suspects nabbed

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three alleged illegal drug dealers who yielded 7.2 kilos of shabu worth P48.96 million in Parañaque City yesterday afternoon.

The suspects were identified as Alvino Ogali Egoy, 47; his wife Normina, 38; and his elder brother, Alfredo Ogali Egoy, 48; residents of Camella Homes in Parañaque City.

Citing initial information, PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon said the suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at around 2:30 p.m. at Lot 5, Block 11 at Camella Home.

They were accosted by operatives of the PDEA-National Capital Region shortly after handing 200 grams of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Also seized from the suspects were seven more kilos of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, six cellphones, the buy-bust money, and assorted documents.

Investigators are preparing charges against the three for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Quezon City, nine alleged drug dealers were also nabbed in separate anti-drug operations conducted by operatives of the Quezon City Police District last Monday. A total of P106,380 worth of shabu were seized from the suspects.

One of the suspects was a 16-year-old boy who was nabbed during a buy-bust operation at Balingasa High School in Barangay Balingasa. Also arrested in the same operation was John Paolo Abay.

The seven other suspects were identified as Toper Caballero, Gomer Basoy Jr, Arnolfo Talingdan, Joel Nazareno, Ramiro Estacio, Nicasio Vicente Tisoy and Joel Padayao Wahing.
