AUTHORITIES arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized some five kilos of suspected shabu worth P34.2 million in an anti-drug operation in Kalingalan Caluang town in Sulu last Tuesday afternoon.
Reports reaching the PNP national headquarters at Camp Crame identified the suspect as Morasad Nasang Jaiyari.
Police said Jaiyari’s cohort, identified only as Albasir, was able to elude arrest.
Jaiyari was nabbed in Barangay Pang in Kalingalan Caluang town at around 5 p.m. by personnel from the PNP, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Army and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
Seized from Jaiyari were 5.03 kilos of shabu, a cellphone, and a green fatigue sling bag.
“This successful anti-illegal drug operation demonstrated the strong collaboration and coordination between law enforcement agencies in addressing the drug problem in the region,” said PNP deputy chief for administration Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia.
