ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested an American and a Filipina and seized P27.4 million worth of suspected shabu and cocaine in separate operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City and Cavite.
Stephen Joseph Szuhar, 75, a retired casino manager from Florida, was arrested by joint personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, NAIA and Bureau of Customs at the NAIA Terminal 3 during an interdiction operation last Monday.
Szuhar just arrived via a Qatar Airways flight from Doha, Qatar. Seized from him were three improvised pouches containing cocaine weighing 3.7 kilos worth P19.6 million.
Arrested during a controlled delivery operation was Noelle Denise Azul, 29, a resident of Magdiwang Subdivision in Bacoor, Cavite also last Monday.
Azul was nabbed by PDEA operatives after she received a package earlier found to be containing 1.1 kilos of suspected shabu worth P7.8 million.
The package, which was consigned to Azul, arrived at the Port of Clark from London, England.
