OPERATIVES of the Quezon City Police District recovered four kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of P27.2 million in a bag left behind by a suspected female drug pusher at an apartment in the city on Saturday.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas yesterday presented to the media the recovered illegal drugs during a press briefing at the QCPD Station 10 headquarters in Kamuning, Quezon City.
The drugs were recovered by responding policemen at the ledge of an apartment on Panay Ave. in Barangay Paligsahan at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday based on information provided by a tenant.
The bag was left behind contained three large packs of suspected shabu, two of them weighing one kilo each and the third one weighing 800 grams, according to Sinas.
Also found inside the bag were 1.2 kilos of suspected shabu packed in sachets, weighing either 25 grams or 20 grams.
Police theorized the shabu was due to be “disposed” by the suspect to clients.
Also recovered was an identification card bearing the name Evelyn Ariola Santos of Pasig City. Sinas said one of two witnesses confirmed the woman he saw resembled the picture on the ID recovered by the police.
Sinas said a witness saw the suspect on the ledge of his rented apartment on the second floor. Thinking she was a robber, the witness shouted at the suspect, scaring her away.
Upon reaching the end of the ledge, Sinas said the suspect jumped to the ground, leaving behind her bag.
A second witness saw the woman on the ground. Sinas said this witness even told the suspect to put on the face mask that was removed during her jump.
Sinas said the second witness did not prevent the suspect from leaving, thinking she was a maid who is escaping from her employers.
Quoting the second witness, Sinas said the suspect was “shaking and wanted to leave immediately.”
Sinas said the first witness promptly reported the incident to the QCPD, which sent a team to the area.
“We’re checking her background so we can apprehend her,” Sinas said.
