TWO suspected drug dealers were arrested and 37 kilos of shabu worth P251.6 million were seized in an anti-drug operation in Cavite last Saturday night.
The Cavite provincial police office identified the suspects as Datu Ali Sampulna, 38, and Almira Sampulna, 30, residents of Poblacion 7 in Cotabato City.
Cavite police director Col. Christopher Olazo described the duo as “high-value individuals” in the continuing war against illegal drugs.
The couple was nabbed by operatives of the Cavite provincial police, PNP Drug Enforcement Group and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at around 7:30 a.m. in a house in Barangay Buhay na Tubig, Imus City.
They were arrested after handing a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million to a poseur buyer.
Also seized from them were a styrofoam box containing 36 kilos of shabu worth P244.8 million; the buy-bust money, a notebook, two cellular phones, a pouch containing identification cards and remittance receipts.
Police said the suspects have been trading illegal drugs in Cavite and nearby provinces.
Another drug dealer was arrested by PDEA operatives during a similar buy-bust operation in Quezon City last Saturday afternoon.
PDEA said its operatives seized 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million from Mansawi Lala, 38.
Lala was nabbed on North Ave., in front of SM North Edsa, at around 3:50 p.m.
