GOVERNMENT agents destroyed more than P25.8 million worth of marijuana plants during a two-day operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga province over the weekend.
Reports reaching PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar said that around 137,000 fully grown marijuana plants were discovered in five different sites by operatives of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Sitio Ballay, Tulgao town.
No one was arrested in the operation.
Reports said the agents burned the marijuana plants on site.
The PNP early this month also discovered and destroyed some P45 million worth of marijuana plants in Benguet province.
Eleazar commended the government anti-illegal drugs teams and assured that marijuana plantations will be destroyed upon discovery.
