JOINT police operatives arrested 29 undocumented Chinese and 124 Filipino workers engaged in the manufacture of fake cigarettes in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija last Friday.
Police Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) director, said his men led by the Special Concerns Unit-Regional Intelligence Division, acting on a tip, conducted the raid at the syndicate’s lair in Barangay Sinipit.
Seized were five cigar-making machines, five packing machines, a mixing machine, a filter machine, two grinders, and several master cases of fake cigarettes valued at around P1 billion. — Raymond Africa
