ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested three Africans and seized 2.75 kilos of suspected shabu worth nearly P19 million in separate operations in Cavite and Pampanga last Saturday.
One of the suspects, Valentine Ebuka Ezike, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted jointly by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the PNP at around 9 a.m. at Palmdale Village, Governor’s Hill in Barangay Biclatan, General Trias City, Cavite.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon said Ezike is an African but could not immediately say from what nation.
Seized from Ezike were 2.5 kilos of shabu worth P17.25 million, a plastic basin containing a weighing scale, plastic bags, and scissors, a laptop, three cell phones, and four identification cards.
The two other suspects were Nigerians Chekwbe Nnamani Sunday, alias David, 28, residing in Mabalacat City in Pampanga; and Ifeanyi Augustine Chinweuba, alias Fanny, 33, who is residing in Sampaloc, Manila.
The Central Luzon regional police office said Sunday and Chinweuba were nabbed in another buy-bust operation in Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Seized from them were 250 grams of shabu worth P1.7 million.
Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen said they are investigating if Sunday and Chinweuba are members of the West African Drug Syndicate.
“We will continue to conduct intelligence operations on drug dealers and users, both foreign and local, to eliminate the supply of illegal drugs across the region,” said Pasiwen.
