OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested two suspected drug peddlers and seized a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million during an operation in Taguig City yesterday afternoon.
Along with another kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million seized Monday in Quezon City and another P2 million worth of shabu seized also on Monday in Muntinlupa City, the total worth of drugs seized for the past two days is P15.6 million.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon identified the suspects nabbed in Taguid as Zainudin Lasid Pasandalan and Mursid Ebus.
QC Police District chief Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo identified the suspects arrested in Quezon City as as Aiden Gray Ombar, alias Lalate, 19; and Alinor Logum, alias Akie, 22; both of Caloocan City; and Jabber Pangandamun, 32; and Jalalodin Jamal, 21; both of Quezon City.
Meanwhile, a security patrol of the Bureau of Correction may have foiled shabu smuggling at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on Monday.
BuCor Spokesman Gabriel Chaclag said Mark Joseph Sagales, 21, of Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, was arrested by a roving patrol outside the perimeter wall of the East Side of the maximum security compound of the national penitentiary at around 5:30 p.m. Seized from him was 300 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P2 million.
Chaclag said the patrol noticed several suspicious persons loitering in the area and throwing something over the 12-foot perimeter wall of the maximum security compound. Sagales was arrested but his companion managed to elude arrest.
