OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized 20 kilos of suspected shabu worth P136 million in Paranaque City last Tuesday afternoon.
PDEA named the suspects as Mark Joseph Cortez, 36; and Jacqueline Espinosa, 37. A third suspect, Marion King John Cortez, is at large.
The agency said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at 5:50 p.m. in Barangay Tambo.
The operation was led by operatives of the PDEA-Calabarzon Special Enforcement Team and PDEA-National Capital Region and supported by the Paranaque City police.
“More or less 20 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated value worth P136 million and buy-bust money were seized from the suspects,” the PDEA said in a statement.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and Section 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Navotas City police station arrested two suspected drug pushers in another buy-bust operation in Barangay NBBS Kaunlaran in the city before noon last Tuesday.
