P123M shabu seized; 2 suspected pushers killed

TWO suspected drug pushers were killed and 13 others, including three minors, were arrested while 18.1 kilos of suspected shabu worth P123 million was seized in separate operations in Muntinlupa City, Mandaluyong City and Quezon City on Sunday.

Slain were Jordan Sabandal and Jayvee De Guzman, who are said to be members of a drug syndicate distributing shabu in Metro Manila and parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Sabandal and De Guzman were killed when they shot it out with PNP, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Customs personnel during a buy-bust operation in Katarungan Village 1, Muntinlupa City.

Seized from them were 10 kilos of suspected shabu worth P68 million, a Nissan Cefiro car, and two cal. 45 pistols.

Police said Sabandal and De Guzman are members of the Divinagracia Drug Group, headed by Michael Divinagracia and one Johnson, a Chinese who is said to be incarcerated at the National Bilibid Prisons.

Three minors were arrested by PDEA, PNP and AFP personnel in Mandaluyong City on Sunday morning.

PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon withheld the names of the minors, aged 15, 16 and 17, all of Trece Martirez, Cavite.

Carreon said the three were nabbed during a buy-bust operation at around 11 a.m. at a gas station on Sierra Madre St. in Barangay Highway Hills in Mandaluyong City.

Seized from them were six kilos of suspected shabu worth P40.8 million.

Ten more suspected drug pushers were also nabbed in another buy-bust operation in Villa Rebecca Homes in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City at around 12:15 pm.

They were identified as Eugene Paul Bernardo, 30; Mannie Bacalangco, 47; Arvin Jay Correa, 28; Mark Ramirez, 33; Justine Venancio, 20; Alexander Almda, 19,; Franselle Nono, 35; April Batac, 36; Stephanie Centino 44; and Carina Trinidad, 37.
