SIX suspected drug pushers, including a minor, were arrested and 18 kilos of suspected shabu worth P122.4 million were seized by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Las Piñas City on Wednesday.
Five of the suspects were identified as Reyano Oraid, 30; Khen Moreno, 20; Efren Mangona, 33; Abdulmunir Addin, 39; and Shay An Mokamad, 18. The sixth suspect was a 14-year-old boy.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon said the suspects were arrested by operatives of PDEA-National Capital Region in a buy-bust operation in Tiongquiao St., Gatchalian Subdivision at around 10:30 a.m.
Seized from them were 18 kilos of shabu, a Mitsubishi Xpander, a Kia vehicle, a cell phone, a keypad, various identification cards, and the buy-bust money.
Citing information coming from PDEA-NCR Director Adrian Alvariño, Carreon said the suspects are associated with a Chinese drug syndicate, adding the drugs sold came from the Golden Triangle international drug syndicate.
Carreon said the group has been under surveillance for some time already before the arrest.
A couple was arrested in another buy-bust operation at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday along the national highway in Barangay Matampay, Marawi City.
They suspects — Ating Pundogar, alias Alex, 47; and his wife Norhatan, Bonsalagan, alias Antik, 48 — were nabbed by joint personnel from the PDEA, PNP and Philippine Army.
The suspects yielded 10 plastic sachets of shabu weighing one kilo and worth P6.8 million, a Kia vehicle, identification cards, a cellphone, and two cellphone keypads.
A barangay tanod and three jobless men were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City on Wednesday night, with P88,400 worth of suspected dangerous drugs seized.
Col. Restituto Arcangel, local police chief, identified the suspects as Junibeth De Leon, 40, the barangay tanod; Alvin Bañez, 45; Renato Omalay, 42; and Vivencio Rempillo Jr., 54, residents of barangay Marikina Heights. — With Christian Oineza
