POLICE seized a total of P1.8 million worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested five persons in buy-bust operations in Angono, Rizal and Angeles City in Pampanga last week.
Col. Dominic Baccay, Rizal PNP provincial director, identified the suspects nabbed in Rizal as Shan Rancel Castro, Ricky Castor and Rose Cortez, residents of Barangay Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal.
Seized from them last Friday were 12 bricks or more or less 12.5 kilograms of suspected marijuana leaves worth P1.5M.
Nabbed in Angeles City were Jeong Eung II, alias Matt, 23, a Korean, and his Filipina cohort, Maureen Ocampo, 26. Seized from them were high-grade marijuana worth P30,000.
They were arrested by Angeles City policemen in a buy-bust operation at around 10:30 p.m. last Friday at Deca Wake Park, Deca Homes Residences in Barangay Margot, Angeles City.
Aside from the marijuana, also seized from them were the buy-bust money and a Honda Accord car.
Police said Eung is a high-value individual in the continuing campaign against illegal drugs in the city. — Victor Reyes and Christian Oineza
