THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) yesterday warned overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against the presence of bogus emails supposedly sent by the agency’s legal staff.

In a social media post, OWWA said the public should be informed of emails falsely claiming to have come from its Legal Office.

“We want to inform the public that our legal staff did not send such an email stating ‘URGENT – ACTION REQUIRED…’,” said OWWA.

It said such bogus emails should immediately be disregarded.

“Do not reply to it nor believe its message,” said OWWA.

In addition, the agency said recipients of such emails must not click any of the links included in it.

“Do not click any links that are included in such emails,” said OWWA.

The advisory was issued after OWWA received information that emails were supposedly sent by its “Office of the Legal Staff” on behalf of one “Atty Anna Patricia Jacobo”.

The email purportedly requires urgent action on an invoice that is attached to the email.
