AN overstaying Chinese who had been blacklisted by the Bureau of Immigration was apprehended by immigration operatives at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport while trying to leave the country.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Zhou Xingxing, 31, was arrested at NAIA Terminal 3 last Sunday while trying to depart for Guangzhou, China.
Tansingco said Zhou was the subject of a January 2023 order to leave the country issued by the BI board of governors for overstaying and working for an online gaming company with an expired license from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
Zhuo is currently detained at the BI’s detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.
“He will remain in custody pending the implementation of his deportation, following the completion of legal proceedings,” Tansingco said.
