ASIDE from local voter registration, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) yesterday announced that registration for overseas voters is set to resume on September 1 at the poll body’s main office in Intramuros, Manila.

“The conduct of continuing registration/certification at the Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) shall resume on September 1, 2020 until September 30, 2021,” the Commission said.

Aside from registration/certification as overseas voters, the OFOV will also be open for transactions such as recapture of biometrics; reinstatement of name inadvertently omitted in the National Registry of Overseas Voters; change of name due to marriage or court order; and correction of entries in the Voter’s Registration Record.

Also available are transactions for reactivation of registration records; change or updating of address and other contact information (within the same foreign service post and country); updating of photograph and/or signature; and request to withdraw the application for registration/certification pending RERB approval.

The COMELEC, however, said the registration of overseas voters will not yet resume in other local field registration centers.

This means that the conduct of registration for overseas voting in local field registration centers shall remain suspended at the Commission on Filipinos Overseas in Paco, Manila; DFA Main Consular Office in Aseana Business Park; DFA Consular Office in NCR West — SM Manila; DFA Consular Office in NCR Central — Robinsons Galleria; and DFA Consular Office in NCR South — Alabang Town Center.

Registration for overseas voting will also remain unavailable at the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in Port Area, Manila; Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Intramuros; OWWA-POEA at the 2nd floor of POEA building; and Balik Manggagawa Program at the Ground floor of POEA building.
