FOR the third straight day, more than 2,000 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health, along with 191 more deaths.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said total infections in the country rose to 2,803,213 counting the 2,605 new cases yesterday, along with the 2,376 and 2,656 reported last Friday and Saturday.
Last Wednesday, 1,591 new cases were reported, the lowest in the country since last February, while there were 1,766 new infections last Thursday.
The death toll climbed to 44,430 for case fatality rate of 1.58.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 5.2 percent out of the 48,450 tests conducted last November 5.
There were 33,526 active cases, with 66 percent mild cases, 15.4 percent moderate cases, 9 percent severe cases, 5.7 percent asymptomatic cases, and 3.8 percent critical cases.
The DOH also reported 3,901 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,725,257. This means that 97.2 percent of COVID patients in the country have recovered.
