POLICE operatives arrested a female drug dealer who has been tagged as the “drug queen” of Ormoc City, Leyte while selling 768 grams of shabu worth P5.22 million to a poseur buyer in the city.
PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said the suspect, Riza Wenceslao, alias Madam Lyka, was nabbed at around 9:45 p.m. last Friday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Linao.
The operation was led by Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-Eastern Visayas and supported by the 121st Special Action Company, Regional Explosive Canine Unit-Eastern Visayas, Ormoc City Mobile Force Company and Ormoc City Police Station.
Seized from Wenceslao were 59 sachets of suspected shabu containing 768 grams of shabu; the buy-bust money; and a sling bag.
She is facing charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs, under Republic Act 9187 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Azurin commended the Eastern Visayas regional police office, under Brig. Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil “for another successful drive against illegal drugs.”
Azurin also reiterated the PNP’s gratitude to the community and other stakeholders for continuously supporting the government’s war against illegal drugs.
“Our government’s anti-drug program will not be successful without the partnership we have with the community as well as with other non-government organizations and partner government agencies,” said Azurin.
“We recognize all the support of everyone to firm-up our strategic prevention framework to address drug addiction and substance abuse in the community thereby helping the government ensure a more effective campaign against illegal drugs,” he added.”
