Five major celebrities have voiced their support for the candidacy of presidential candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo and her running-mate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

On April 11, award-winning actor Piolo Pascual called Robredo the real face of unity and the only one who can bring the country together in a video message.

“Ang totoong pagkakaisa ay isang pangako na walang maiiwan, lahat tayo magkakasabay na humahakbang para sa pangarap na lipunan,” Piolo said in a video. “At ang totoong pagkakaisa, ay inspirasyon at panawagan na tayong lahat ay gumawa ng kabutihan,” he added.

Meanwhile, couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid have thrown their support for the Leni-Kiko tandem in their respective social media posts.

Ogie extolled the qualities of Kiko, who is a friend and was his schoolmate in La Salle Greenhills and University of the Philippines in Diliman.

“Siya ay nagtyaga, nagsipag at nag-aral upang maging magaling na leader,” he said, describing Kiko as a student.

As a man, Ogie finds Kiko “God-fearing, humble and “always willing to serve.”

The singer-songwriter added, “Hindi po magagawa ni Leni ang lahat ng gusto niyang mga magagandang adhikain para sa ating bansa kung wala siyang kaagapay at kung walang taong maasahan niya at hindi siya pagtataksilan.”

Ogie has already spoken some months ago of his support for Vice President Robredo.

Meanwhile, his wife, Regine, also came out with her own Instagram video declaring her support for the Leni and Kiko tandem.

“Itinataas ko po ang kamay ni Kiko hanggang huli. Dahil mas liliwanag ang buhay pag si Leni at Kiko ang ipapanalo natin,” she said.

A few weeks ago, Regine and Ogie released an updated version of “Hindi Ka Nag-iisa” on YouTube. Written by Ogie, the song was performed by the couple as a duet.

“Hindi ka nag-iisa. Isasapuso ang dangal ng ating bayan, sa tulong at biyaya ng Maykapal. Magkakapit bisig tayo, sama sama bawat Pilipino. Mula noon, ngayon at kailanpaman, ‘di ka nag-iisa,” they sang.

On Tuesday, April 12, Anne posted a pink rose on Intagram and wrote as caption: “A mother’s love. Yan ang tawag sa rosas na ito… how apt it is for this time… dahil ang pangarap ko sa ating bansa ay magkaroon ng ilaw sa ating tahanan na tinatawag nating Pilipinas na gagabay, ipaglalaban, proprotektahan at mamahalin ito, mamahalin tayo… Kaya para sa akin, #KulayRosasAngBukas”

Award-winning actress Maricel Soriano also posted a photo of herself with her face half hidden by a pink abanico with “Kakampink” emblazoned on it.

Aside from Piolo, Regine, Ogie, Anne and Maricel, celebrities including Nadine Lustre and Gary Valenciano have also thrown their lot behind Robredo and Pangilinan.
