THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is warning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families about online scammers offering assistance.
“Don’t be fooled by the growing number of online services being offered online by those supposedly connected or personnel of OWWA in exchange of financial payments,” OWWA said in a social media post.
The agency issued the warning after getting reports about persons offering to help speed up processing of financial assistance to OFWs.
The target victims are being asked to send their payments online in exchange of their inclusion in a supposed list.
Another scam involves offers of dream homes to OFWs and their families.
OWWA asked those who have been victimized and those who have seen the online posts of scammers to report to the nearest regional welfare office.
