NEARLY a year since it was launched, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday said the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Pass is now set for a global rollout.
In a social media post, the DMW said the OFW Pass will be available in all destination countries for OFWs, from only 10 pilot countries.
“Better and improved DMW Mobile App – OFW Pass now on its global rollout,” said DMW.
To recall, the OFW Pass is the replacement for the traditional Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) that was used by departing Filipino workers.
It was back in July 2023 when the DMW launched the DMW App and the OFW Pass on a pilot testing phase.
At the time, the OFW Pass was limited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Singapore, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, and United Kingdom, as well as the Philippines.
The OFW Pass global rollout is part of the improved version of the DMW Mobile App, according to the DMW.
