THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday said it has fixed the glitches encountered by applicants of the OFW (overseas Filipino workers) Pass during the pilot test of the new procedure in 10 countries.
The DMW last week held the ceremonial watch of the OFW Pass in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Japan, Taiwan, and United Kingdom (UK).
The system encountered glitches after it was unable to send One-Time Password (OTP) authentication for those that have already started processing their pass.
“Our systems engineer was already able to fix the non-sending of the OTP authentication yesterday. You can now receive your OTPs,” said the DMW.
It, however, noted that the OFW Pass processing may take a long time due to the high number of OFWs using the system.
“The process may slow down whenever there are a high number of simultaneous users. Please be patient,” said the DMW.
At the same time, it called on OFWs in countries where the new system has yet to be launched to just wait for its availability in their areas.
“For those waiting for the OFW Pass in other countries, please wait for the official announcement from the DMW,” it said in a social media post.
“We remind everybody that this is still on a pilot test run so that we will know how to better improve the system,” it added.
