THE Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) yesterday welcomed the inclusion of overseas Filipino workers under the Priority Group A4 in the national immunization program, saying it will likely boost the country’s deployment numbers.
In a virtual press briefing, POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia said he believes that foreign employers would be more confident in hiring OFWs once they are given COVID-19 jabs.
“It will be definitely a big help that from Category B, they were elevated to Category A. It means that the OFWs are given more priority,” said Olalia.

“This will help address the need of the OFWs to be protected as well as their destination countries amid the pandemic,” he added.
